Gian Luigi Tosato

Born in Milan in 1940.
He graduated from “Sapienza” University of Rome and has been a lawyer since 1976.

He was Visiting Scholar at the University of Michigan in 1973 and at the University of Stanford in 1974/75.

Today he is full Professor of International Law and EU Law at the Faculty of Law at “Sapienza” University.

He is member of the American Society of International Law; of the Japanese American Society for Legal Studies; of the International Law Association; of the Scientific Board of the Italian Association for Arbitration; of the Executive Board of the Institute for International Affairs; of the Unidroit Administrative Tribunal; of the Assocarta Board of Arbitrators; Knight of the Order of Labour Merit of the Italian Republic; former President of the Commission on Computing, Telecommunications and Information Policies; of the International Chamber of Commerce of Paris; Honorary President of Ericsson Italia.

He is author of several publications of private and public international law and of EU law.
