MARCO D'ALBERTI

Born in Rome 10 August 1948.

At present Full Professor of Administrative Law at “Sapienza” University of Rome.

Barrister.

After graduating in Law with full marks and honours, he was assistant to the chair of Administrative Law of Massimo Severo Giannini at the University of Rome “Sapienza” (1973-1977). In 1985 he obtained the full professorship in Administrative Law. He has previously taught in the Universities of Camerino, Urbino, Ancona and at the High School of Public Administration and LUISS. 

He has been Visiting Scholar at the Universities of Cambridge (1980-1981), Harvard (1982) and Yale (1987-1988) and Visiting Professor at the University of Paris II - Panthéon-Assas (1990 and 2005) and at Columbia University School of Law (1995). He is member of the International Academy of Comparative Law (from 1998) and of the Scientific Board of the Université Franco Italienne (from 2009). 

He has been member of many Government Committees. Among the others: the Committee for the modernization of public institutions (1985) and the Committee for the implementation of the statute on administrative procedures (1991). He was Chairman of the Committee for Administrative Innovation (1997). 

He was member of C.N.E.L. (National Council for Economy and Labour) (1995-97); of the  Committee for the Guarantee of Statistical Information (1993-97); of the Scientific Committee of the “CONSOB” (Italian Securities and Exchange Commission) (1995-97).

 From 1997 up to 2004, he has been Commissioner of the “Autorità garante della concorrenza e del mercato” (Italian Competition Authority).
