Born in Rome on 21 May 1940.
Degree in Law at “Sapienza” University of Rome (1962).

Full Professor of Private Comparative Law at the Faculty of Law of “Sapienza” University.

Professor of Commercial Law at the “School for Legal Professions” at the Faculty of Law of “Sapienza” University.

Visiting Fellow at the “Centre for the Advanced Study of European and Comparative Law” (Oxford).

Visiting Professor at the Universities of Stanford (California), Temple (Philadelphia), Paris-Panthéon, Sorbonne, Paris-Dauphine, Aix-en-Provence, Louvain-la-Neuve, São Paulo.

Member of the “Académie Internationale de Droit Comparé”; of the Board of Directors of the Italian Association for Arbitration; of the “Institut Français de l’Arbitrage”; of the “London Court for International Arbitration”; of the “American Trial Lawyers Association”.

Author of two books (Gli statuti delle società per azioni, Milan 1974; Le associazioni temporanee di imprese, Milan 1981) and of numerous essays, articles, encyclopedia entries and notes on Italian, European and extra-European Commercial Law and Comparative Private Law.
