Filippo Satta

Filippo Satta became a Professor of Administrative Law in 1976 and since then has taught at the Universities of Cagliari, Perugia and the University of Rome Tor Vergata. For the past ten years he has been teaching at Sapienza University of Rome.
Professor Satta has been a lawyer since 1966 and is founder of Satta & Associates, a law firm specializing in administrative law.

He has held a number of public offices having been appointed chairman or commissioner of several state agencies.

He is author of numerous publications, not only on of a general nature such as his Principio di legalità e pubblica amministrazione nello Stato democratico (Principle of legality and public administration in the democratic state), 1968; Giustizia Amministrativa, third ed. 1997, but also on specific topics of administrative law ranging from the administrative sentence (2007) to the separation of the Telecom Italia network (together with Massimo Zaccheo, 2008) and digitalisation of administrative proceedings (with Pierluigi Ciocca, 2008), to name but a few.

Nowadays Professor Satta’s interests are directed mainly towards substantive law and the influence that European integration has on domestic public law.
